Buyer’s Guide

Having the right pair of trainers is crucial for running as it may help improve your performance or may impact it in a bad way without you even knowing it.

Choosing running shoes with the following factors will make your run smoother and you might end up adding more time or distance to your run than usual.

Weight

Weight of the running shoes plays an important role in your overall running performance. The best part about treadmill running is you can literally wear featherweight shoes and enjoy your run weight free.

Lightweight shoes give you the advantage of pushing your limits further. You won’t think twice about going the extra mile when you are not feeling a burden on your feet.

Breathability

Breathability is also an important factor in keeping your feet cool. Since on treadmill there will be no winds cooling you off like a road on a trail run, it is very important for your shoes to be breathable. It will keep your feet cool and allows you to play at the top of your game.

After all, nobody wants to run with burning feet.

Cushioning

More is not always better, contrary to the common belief you just need a decent amount of cushioning to support your gait and protect your feet.

All the running shoes I have mentioned in the list above cater to the cushioning needs required for a treadmill running shoe. It is important to find the right balance between the weight and cushioning. More of any of these two factors will not benefit your run.

Durability

Since you will be running on a treadmill and not the rocks, durability of the shoe is not much of a question here. But you also do not want to invest in a shoe that wears out too quickly.

There is one more thing that you need to keep in mind, just that your shoe looks pretty new does not mean it hasn’t worn out. With time and daily running shoes are bound to be worn off. You better know when its time to get a new pair.

Flexibility and Comfort

You need your running shoes to be flexible enough to be supportive and comfortable while running. A stiff shoe may lead to sore feet or knee pain.

Comfort is the key to choosing your running shoe. It can be a premium shoe with the best technology in the world but if its nit comfortable enough for you it’s not worth it.

Summing Up

Running has its countless benefits on health and it’s a great way to add cardio in your routine. It’s equally important to have the right pair of shoes to get you started. You can achieve more in your training when paired with the right shoes.

The thing with treadmills is, the progress and success of treadmill exercises do not only depend on how well you perform or how hard you push yourself forward. But it also depends vastly on the type of running shoes you are wearing. So be wise and careful with what you choose.

Spending a little more than what you have planned to get the right shoe won’t hurt. You will be able to see the results by yourself and won’t regret your decision. After all, it’s more an investment in yourself than an expense.

By now you must have chosen your best running shoes for treadmill. All of these shoes are chosen carefully after a ton of research to save you from the hustle.

Do share in the comments which one of these do you like the most.

    Thanks for the great info.
I never thought there should be different trainers for treadmills – all this makes good sense. I like the breathability point that you have mentioned: in treadmill there is def less wind passing compared to an outdoor run.
I have been a Nike user for so long but here I like the ‘Adidas Adizero Adios 4’ and ‘ASICS GEL-Kanayo 26’.
