Drinking Lemon and honey water first thing in the morning has a number of benefits for your health and body. It works like a miracle potion. According to experts this drink boosts the metabolism of your body to a great extent. Higher metabolism helps in burning more calories than usual.

Since lemon is loaded with the goodness of Vitamin C, it is a powerful antioxidant needed for the body. Vitamin C is crucial in boosting metabolism hence helps lose belly fat effectively. And this is the reason why lemon water is my personal favorite.

Benefits of Vitamin C are not limited to the fast metabolism. It helps prevention from common cold and tends to boost your immunity. Regular intake of Vitamin C helps in battling high blood pressure, it decreases the level of stress hormones that allows dealing with any physical and emotional stress, and reduces the risk of heart diseases. It also helps the formation of Elastin in your body, which keeps your skin healthy and glowing.

A study published in the Journal of American College of Nutrition states that individuals with higher Vitamin C status burns 30% more fat during exercise than individuals with lower Vitamin C status.

As lemon water is a good source of Vitamin C, it comes with all of its benefits including a ton of its own. It promotes hydration, energizes and enhances mood, and helps in digestion and detoxification.

How to Make and Use

Things you need:

  • Lemon juice
  • Honey
  • Water

Mix about a table spoon of fresh lemon juice with a teaspoon of raw honey and mix it well in lukewarm water. It is more effective when taken with warm water. Drink it daily empty stomach. Honey is added as a natural sweetener.

I prefer to use fresh lemon juice rather than artificial lemon from a bottle, for more effective results.

Drink it for as long as you want or until you get your desired results.

Ideally, have your breakfast after 30 minutes of drinking lemon water.

This is my second favorite drink. You might have heard about infused water before, also known as Detox water. You would find different people using different ingredients for infused water but here I will share what actually works best for weight loss and it worked best for me.

My recipe includes Cucumber, Lemon and Mint leaves. This drink leads to many potential health benefits including weight loss, balanced hydration and digestive regularity.

Cucumbers are high in nutrients, contain some important minerals and vitamins, and are low in calories. Cucumbers contain good amount of water and soluble fiber, allowing them to promote hydration and are ideal for weight loss. It contains antioxidants which may reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

One study revealed the analysis of 3,628 people and found that eating high-water and low-calorie food contents is an effective measure for weight reduction.

Lemons, again are a big contributor in weight loss. They will flush out impurities from your body resulting in increased fat metabolism.

Mint leaves are rich in nutrients. It is a source of antioxidants and eases digestion.

Ginger is anti-inflammatory and prevents constipation. It fires up metabolism and helps get rid of the unwanted belly fat.

How to Make and Use

Things you need:

  • Cucumber (sliced)
  • Lemon (sliced)
  • Mint leaves
  • Ginger – optional (julienne cut)
  • Water

Mix 1 medium-sized cucumber, 1 medium-sized lemon, 8-10 mint leaves, and a tablespoon of ginger in 1 liter of water. Let it blend overnight and drink over the course of the day.

You can take it chilled if you like.

Drink it daily until you get your desired results.

Green Tea with Mint

Green tea is considered to be the healthiest beverage in today’s world. It is rich in nutrients. Apart from weight loss it has many other significant health benefits.

The key ingredient in green tea is caffeine, which not only keeps you awake but also makes you smarter. It boosts various brain functions, and improves mood and memory. It is a great source of antioxidants and protects your body from a number of dreadful diseases like cancer, Alzheimer’s, type2 diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.

Shedding those extra Kilos is made easy with green tea as it is likely to increase metabolic rate and fat burning. Green tea also promotes fat oxidation, a study showed the average oxidation rates to be increased by 17% by the consumption of green tea proving it to be an effective fat burning agent.

Another study proved green tea as a good fat burner and indicated high metabolic rates.

While some studies did not agree to increasing metabolism through green tea, so the results may vary on individuals.

Having mint leaves in green tea may increase the odds of losing weight through its properties.

As our body consists of 70% water, drinking water in the morning allows the body to hydrate, energize and remove toxins which in turn helps your skin glow and keeps your body healthier. According to a research, drinking adequate water improves your cognitive performance. It also helps to improve digestion, improve brain function, and positively affect mood and memory.

Wow I wonder if these really work. I have heard about the lemon drink before but thought it too good to be true.
